Attendance
Sickness
Attendance at The Heights Primary is vital for every child’s learning and wellbeing. Regular attendance helps pupils build strong routines, keep up with lessons, and make the most of teaching and support in class. When children are in school, they benefit not only from subject learning but also from friendships, confidence, and the wider opportunities that contribute to a positive school experience.
We ask parents and carers to work with us to ensure children attend every day they are able. If your child is unwell or there is another unavoidable reason for absence, please inform the school by phone or via the Arbor app as early as possible and provide any necessary details. Our team will monitor attendance patterns and, where appropriate, will offer support and guidance to help remove barriers to attendance and keep your child on track.
Exceptional circumstances
We strongly recommend that holidays are taken during half-term breaks or school holidays, as we do not authorise any holiday requests during term time. If you require time off for any reason during term time - such as a family emergency - you'll need to complete the absence report form below; a paper version can also be obtained from the school office.
